Xiaomi has announced the launch of the Redmi A-series smartphone in India. Earlier this year, Xiaomi introduced the Redmi A1 as its most affordable smartphone. The Xiaomi A-series is getting a new smartphone as the brand confirmed the Redmi A1+ launch in India later this month.

Since the A1 was launched at Rs 6,499, the Redmi A1+ is expected to cost Rs 6,999 or Rs 7,499. One of the most notable differences between the A1 and A1+ is the presence of a fingerprint scanner on the back of the A1+. According to Xiaomi, the phone will be offered at least in green and blue colors.
In addition, the invite confirms that the top of the A1+ has a water-drop notch on the front and a dual-camera setup with an LED flash on the back.

As for the display, the A1+ will feature a 6.52-inch LCD with an HD+ resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels, a standard 60Hz refresh rate, and a 20:9 aspect ratio. This device is powered by the MediaTek Helio A22 SoC and can be expected to come with 3GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage.
There will be an 8-megapixel camera on the back of the phone, alongside a 2-megapixel depth sensor. It is likely that the A1+ will come with a 5MP front-facing camera.
Software-wise, it is said to ship with Android 12 (Go Edition) out of the box similar to the A1. It is likely that the phone will be equipped with a 5000mAh battery with support for 10W charging.
