Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi on Wednesday confirmed to launch a new phone under its Redmi 9 series in India on September 15. The phone will be launched at 12 PM (noon) on 15th September and it will go on sale via Flipkart and Mi.com
“📢 Entertaℹ️nment & excℹ️tement are both going to be yours! 🤩“, the company teased from its official Twitter handle. The teaser image also suggests that the Redmi 9i will come with a waterdrop notch and 4GB of RAM. The company has revealed no further details.
The Redmi 9i is expected to hit the market in three color options: Nature Green, Sea Blue and Midnight Black. The Redmi 9i smartphone is likely to flaunt a 6.53-inch HD+ IPS display with a screen resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels and 20:9 aspect ratio. The waterdrop notch will house a front camera.
The back of the phone will feature a 13MP camera and on the front it might feature 5MP selfie shooter.
It may be powered by the 2GHz Octa Core MediaTek Helio G25, apart from featuring with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
The phone may be backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for fast charging via USB Type C. On the software front, the handset will run Android 10-based MIUI 11 skin which will be upgradable to MIUI 12.
