Xiaomi seems to have a new Redmi 9 series smartphone under development as the hands-on images were leaked online recently. Additionally, it has confirmed some of the rumors that were making rounds on the internet. Now, the report suggesting that the upcoming Redmi 9 will feature MediaTek Helio G80 SoC.
According to the popular tipster Sudhanshu A., the Redmi 9 will come equipped with the Helio G80 SoC. To recall, Realme’s new Narzo series also confirmed to pack the same chipset. However, the launch event has been postponed due to the Coronavirus lockdown.
Further, as per the leakster, the Redmi 9 will be available in two colors: Purple and Green. Going by the leaked live image, the phone will feature a quad-camera setup on the rear with a LED flash. Also, there will be a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Coming to camera specs, the Redmi 9 is said to come with a quad-camera setup. The setup comes with a combination of 13-megapixel primary lens, 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor, a 5-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. That said, there is no other information available at the time of writing.
As per the previous report, the forthcoming Redmi 9 will boast a 6.6-inch DoT notch display and it is expected to ship with up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It is likely to launch with a 5000mAh battery.
Unfortunately, we don’t have any official details regarding the screen size, RAM and storage, and battery capacity of the device, at the moment. If all goes well, Xiaomi will reveal those details as the launch nears.
