Redmi 9 to launch soon in India, listed on Xiaomi’s official site

The Chinese brand Xiaomi is known for its budget and mid-range smartphones. Yesterday, the brand has launched the flagship Mi 10 in India and the Poco F2 Pro is set to unveil on May 12. While the brand is working on some of its upcoming smartphones for 2020 that includes Redmi 9 too as the device has now been spotted listed in the RF exposure section of the Xiaomi India website. 

Going by the Redmi 9 listing, the phone will have model number M2004J19G and Head SAR of 0.711 W/kg and Body SAR of 1.059 W/kg. Unfortunately, the listing doesn’t reveal the specifications or price of the upcoming budget smartphone.  

Interestingly, the same model was also spotted earlier spotted on the Chinese certification site, 3C. Moreover, the 3C listing revealed that the handset will ship with a 10W charger but will have support for 18W fast charging. Furthermore, the device with a similar model number has also appeared on the Eurasian EEC certification site.

According to the rumors, the forthcoming Redmi 9 will pack a MediaTek Helio G80 SoC. On the rear, the phone is tipped to feature a rear-mounted fingerprint and a quad-camera setup. The rear camera setup will include a 13-megapixel primary sensor, 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor, a 5-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The smartphone will be available in two color options including Purple and Green.

Furthermore, the device is expected to launch with a 6.6-inch dot notch display and the rumors say that the phone will be fuelled by up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The storage is likely to be expandable. In terms of battery capacity, the Redmi 9 is expected to ship with a 5000mAh battery and USB Type-C port.
