Xiaomi India has just announced that the Redmi 8A will be announced in the country on September 25. Global VP & MD of Xiaomi India Manu Kumar Jain posted a teaser image of the upcoming Redmi 8A along with the launch date in India.

However, the shared Redmi 8A teaser does not exactly share all that much info but based on it, we can understand that the phone will sport a dot notched display and will have a Redmi branding on the chin, just like the Redmi 7A, its predecessor.

The landing page for the Redmi 8A smartphone on the company’s official website reveals that the phone will give “immersive viewing experience” hinting at bigger display, “more power to you” which hints at the bigger battery and faster charging. It also sheds light on the handset’s design, camera, and others.

The device is already certified by TENAA and the listing revealed the key specs of the Redmi 8A. As per the TENAA listing, the upcoming entry-level smartphone will have a 6.2-inch dot-notch display panel featuring 1520 x 720 pixels screen resolution. It will be powered by an unspecified 2.0GHz octa-core mobile processor with up to 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, which is expandable up to 512GB. On the back of the handset will be a 12MP shooter. For selfies, it will have an 8MP snapper on the front. It will run Android 9-based MIUI 10 out of the box. Ticking all these is a massive 5000mAh battery. The TENAA listing also reveals that the phone measures 156.3 x 75.4 x 9.4mm and weighs 188 grams. Connectivity options will include Dual SIM, VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS and a micro-USB port. The phone will measure 156.3×75.4×9.4mm and weighs 190 grams.

Furthermore, the TENAA listing revealed that the Redmi 8A will be launched eight colors options: Black, Red, Blue, Pink, White, Green, Purple, and Grey. However, as usual, only three or four color variant will be made available.
