Xiaomi confirmed that it will launch Redmi 8 series in home country China on October 1, with no word on when this smartphone would come to India.
The company has even shared a teaser of the new series which reveals some highlighting feature of one of the phones from the series along with launch date and the timings. As per the teaser, one of the smartphone launching on October 1 will include a 48MP camera sensor. Besides the Redmi 8, and Redmi 8 Pro, the Xiaomi is also expected to unveil the Redmi 8A in the same launch event.
According to the recent TENAA listing, the upcoming Redmi 8A will feature a 6.2-inch HD+ display with a waterdrop notch. Under the hood, Xiaomi Redmi 8A is tipped to run on the octa-core processor clocked at 2 GHz. It will come with 2GB/3GB/4GB RAM and 16GB/32GB/64GB storage options with microSD card slot for further expansion of storage up to 512GB. For photography, the smartphone will have a 12-megapixel sensor. An 8-megapixel front camera will be housed in the waterdrop notch on the front. Xiaomi Redmi 8A is said to be backed by massive 5000mAh battery. The Redmi 8A is also said to be offered in eight color options – Black, Blue, Red, White, Green, Purple, Pink, and Grey.

Talking about another phone Redmi 8, it is expected to arrive with the dual rear camera setup aligned vertically. The Snapdragon 439 SoC paired with the 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage is expected to fuel the device. On the software front, it will run Android 9 Pie-based MIUI 9.7.11 skin.
