Redmi 7A Launched – Specifications, Price & More

Finally, Xiaomi launched their new Redmi phone in India, the Redmi 7A, which has been priced at Rs. 5,999. The smartphone is the successor to the last year’s Redmi 6A, but the major change is the processor. Xiaomi opted Qualcomm processor in its new Redmi 7A phone, whereas the predecessor Redmi 6A was launched in India last year with MediaTek Helio processor.

Redmi 7A Specifications

Redmi 7A packs a large 5.45-inch HD+ display with 720×1440 pixels resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. With its price tag, the phone falls in the budget category and will be available in three colors: Matte Black, Matte Blue, and Matte Gold. Besides the 2GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal storage, which is expandable via microSD card. Under the hood, there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 octa-core processor and is backed by a 4000mAh battery. On the software front, the phone runs MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie.

In terms of optics, the smartphone features a 12MP Sony IMX486 camera on the rear panel. The 5MP front camera comes with AI features for selfies and video calls.

The connectivity features on the Redmi 7A include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Redmi 7A Price in India and Availability

Redmi 7A is currently priced at Rs. 5,999 for the 2 GB RAM + 16 GB storage variant and Rs. 6,199 for the 2GB RAM + 32 GB storage variant. As we mentioned earlier, it will be available in three color variants – Matte Black, Matte Blue, and Matte Gold. The phone will be available starting July 11 (12MP noon). The Redmi 7A can be purchased via Flipkart, Mi.com, and Mi Home stores.

As an introductory offer, Xiaomi is offering a Rs. 200 discount on both Redmi 7A variants in India. Thus, the smartphone will be available for purchase at as low as Rs. 5,799. However, this discount is available throughout July.
