Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi will unveil its Redmi 7 smartphone come March 18 in the Redmi Note 7 Pro launch event. Though the Xiaomi has yet to announce any official features, numerous leaks have already revealed a few specifications for the unannounced device. Today, the Redmi 7 was spotted on the Geekbench website after a benchmark test was done.

According to the Geekbench test, the Redmi 7 will come with Android 9 Pie pre-installed. It also will feature 4GB of RAM and is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 625. Surprisingly, a recent hands-on video of the device claimed that it will be powered by the Snapdragon 632 SoC. It seems the Geekbench listing is inaccurately showing the Snapdragon 632 chipset inside the Redmi 7 as Snapdragon 625. It is worth to mention that the Motorola G7 had also been caught on Geekbench running on an ‘msm8953’ chipset on Geekbench before its launch, which led some to believe that it could be powered by a Snapdragon 625 chipset. The Redmi 7 benchmark test resulted in a multi-core score of 4197 and a single-core score of 1219.

Even though there is a confusion on the chipset, other specs of the Redmi 7 have already revealed by TENAA listing. As per the TENAA listing, the device is expected to sport a 6.26-inch HD+ display with 1520 x 720 pixels resolution. The device will be fuelled by the 1.8GHz octa-core processor under the hood with three RAM and storage configurations: 2GB RAM + 16GB, 3GB RAM + 32GB, and 4GB RAM + 64GB. All these three variants internal storage can be expandable up to via a MicroSD card slot. A large enough 3900mAh battery is powering the device.

For optics, there will be a 12-megapixel sensor on the back, although the listing does not reveal the secondary sensor details. Up front, there is only an 8MP single camera sensor for selfies. It runs on Android 9 Pie out of the box with the MIUI 10 laid on top. The device measures 158.65 × 76.43 × 8.9 mm and its weight as 180 grams. TENAA listing revealed that the Redmi 7 will be available in black, red, blue, pink, white, green, purple, and gray color variants.

Coming to the Redmi 7 price, the device is expected to be priced at CNY 900 (INR 9,300 approx.) in China. We expect the Redmi 7 to arrive in India soon after its launch in China.
