Realme’s new patent reveals a smartphone with a circular camera array

Oppo’s spin-off brand Realme has filed a new patent for the design of its upcoming smartphone. The patent shows the design that might come with the company’s upcoming smartphone.

A new patent recently spotted by GizChina shows a phone with a circular camera module on the rear. The array quite resembles Huawei’s Mate 30 Pro. The camera setup is likely to house four camera sensors. The other possibility is that one of these holes serves as a house for the LED flash, something that would make this a triple camera setup.

Another angle of the phone in the patent image shows that the power button is placed on the right. The volume rocker is located at the left edge. Surprisingly, a rear/side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Thus, the handset is expected to feature an AMOLED display and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Apart from this, there is a punch hole cut out on the top-left for the selfie shooter. The phone shown in the patent has a bezel-less design with minimal bezels at the top and bottom. On the bottom, it has the charging port, probably a USB-C port, of course with fast-charging technology.

Even more surprisingly, the SIM tray is on the bottom part with a speaker grille. The device has an ergonomic curvature at the back and seems to lack a 3.5mm headphone jack.
