Realme which is once a sub-brand of Oppo and recognises itself as an independent brand debut in India with its Realme 1 with a success in smartphone market and now it is its fifth smartphone which is world’s first smartphone powered by MediaTek Helio P70 chipset, dubbed as Realme U1 which is finally launched in the country today. It seems now the company focused totally on its camera as for today’s photography taken first place with all its selfies and rilfies. And this phone unveiled with a MediaTek Helio P70 processor launched back in October 2018.
The key selling points of the smartphone are its camera that bears a dual rear camera setup, 25-megapixel front camera, AI Face Unlock.
Price and Availablity
The Realme U1 launched in India in two storage variants where 3GB RAM/ 32GB inbuilt storage variant costs at Rs. 11,999 and the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage model costs at Rs. 14,499. Notably, the smartphone comes with three colour options – Ambitious Black, Brave Blue, and Fiery Gold.
The Realme U1 will be available exclusively via Amazon India site on December 5 from 12 pm IST.
On Launch offers, the company is offering a 5 per cent cashback on SBI cards, no-cost EMIs, and Jio benefits up to Rs. 5,750 and up to 4.2TB Jio 4G data.
The company also launched a Realme Iconic Case with a bold type-face on the back as well as Realme Buds with magnetic housing for the earpieces and inline controls. Both are priced at Rs 499.
Specs and features
Speaking about specs, The new handset looks alike as its company’s previously launched device, the Realme 2 Pro. That sports same front and rear design. The new handset is slim in its look and easy to carry.
The Realme U1 sports a 6.3-inch Full-HD+ IPS LCD display (2340x1080p, 19.5:9 aspect ratio) with a waterdrop notch same as Realme 2 pro.
The Realme U1 is the first device to be launched with MediaTek’s flagship Helio P70 chipset coupled with up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage (expandable up to 256GB via microSD card) under the hood.
On Imaging duties, the Realme U1 includes a horizontally-placed 13MP (f/2.2) + 2MP (f/2.4) dual rear-camera module on the rear and a 25MP (f/2.0) Sony IMX576 selfie camera with a f/2.0 aperture, 1.8-micron pixels, and 4-in-1 pixels tech. The company is also touting a Backlight mode, which keeps both the background and foreground in focus despite bright backlighting behind the subject. The company propels that the device as a “Selfie Pro”.
The Realme U1 is fuelled by a 3,500mAh battery. It includes the usual set of connectivity options including Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, triple-slot SIM and microSD card tray, micro-USB port for charging and data transfer, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
