Realme is set to expand its Realme 9 lineup with the introduction of the new Realme 9i 5G. The device is set to launch in the Indian market on August 18. Oppo’s spin-off brand Realme announced the Realme 9i, a 4G smartphone powered by Snapdragon 680 SoC in January this year. Prior to its official announcement in India, renders and specifications of the upcoming 5G device were leaked online.
Based on the report from tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore in collaboration with Appuals, the Realme 9i 5G will use the Dimensity 810 SoC and up to 6GB RAM.
Realme 9i 5G’s sides and back will be made of plastic, and it will come in Black and Gold colors. According to the images, the rear of the phone has a glossy finish, called “Laser Light Design,” which is inspired by vintage CD design.
As for the display, the Realme 9i 5G will feature a 6.6-inch FHD+ LCD display with a refresh rate of 90Hz and a 180Hz touch sampling rate. The device will have a V-shaped water-drop notch to accommodate a selfie camera.
The smartphone will be powered by MediaTek’s 6nm-based Dimensity 810 processor. It is expected that the smartphone will be available in two storage configurations: 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB.
In terms of the cameras, Realme 9i 5G will carry a triple camera system led by a 50MP primary lens, a 2MP portrait lens, and the third lens for 4cm macro shots, along with an LED flash. There will be a front-facing 8MP camera for selfies and video calls.
As per the report, the handset will be powered by a 5000mAh battery that supports 18W fast wired charging. Realme 9i 5G runs Android 12-based Realme UI 3.0 out of the box.
On the side of the phone, there is a fingerprint scanner that also serves as the power button. Other features of the phone will include a single main speaker, a USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm headphone socket, a microphone array, and a microSD card slot that supports up to 1TB.
