Finally, Realme has unveiled Realme 9 Pro 5G and Realme 9 Pro+ 5G smartphones in India that feature a Light Shift Design that changes the colour of their back panels from Light Blue to Red when exposed to direct sunlight or ultraviolet light. However, the color-shifting technology is limited to only one Sunrise Blue colour option.

Realme 9 Pro 5G specifications
Realme 9 Pro 5G is loaded with a 6.6-inch full-HD+ LCD panel with a 120Hz (six-level adaptive) refresh rate. Powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC, the device packs Adreno 619 GPU, up to 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage.
Realme 9 Pro 5G boasts a triple rear camera setup featuring a 64-megapixel primary sensor, along with an f1.79 lens, as well as an 8-megapixel wide-angle shooter and a 2-megapixel macro shooter. On the front, the Realme 9 Pro 5G flaunts a 16-megapixel selfie camera.
It ships with Android 12-based Realme UI 3.0 skin on top. With a 5,000mAh battery, the phone supports 33W Dart Charge fast charging. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. There is also a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Realme 9 Pro+ 5G offers a 6.4-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 1,080×2,400 pixels screen resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, a 90Hz refresh rate and a touch sampling rate of 180Hz. In addition, the display is protected by 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The Realme 9 Pro+ is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 920 SoC, coupled with Mali-G68 MC4 GPU, up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 onboard storage.
The triple camera setup on the Realme 9 Pro+ 5G includes a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary sensor, with an f/1.8 lens that supports optical image stabilisation (OIS) in addition to an 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 sensor with an f/2.2 ultra-wide lens and a 2-megapixel macro shooter. Realme 9 Pro+ is equipped with a 16-megapixel Sony IMX471 camera on the front with an f/2.4 lens. The phone also includes a Clear Fusion algorithm that is claimed to help capture well-lit selfies even in low-light conditions and indoor settings.
The primary rear camera of the Realme 9 Pro+ is coupled with a proprietary ProLight Imaging Technology to enhance light intake. The sensor also increases the pixel size from one micron to two that is rated to increase light intake by 50 percent. In addition, the phone features AI Noise Reduction Engine 3.0 that is touted to reduce the noise on your photos by 30 percent.
In addition, the in-display fingerprint sensor on the Realme 9 Pro+ 5G is equipped with a heart rate sensor that is claimed to provide heart rate detection and recording. There are eight different heart-rate scene labels, namely General, Working, Exercise, Resting, Excited, Stressed, Full of energy, and Sleepless. These are claimed to help users keep track of their heart rate at any particular time. The heart-rate tracking is, however, not medically approved.
The device boots Realme UI 3.0 skin which is based on Android 12 operating system. Realme 9 Pro+ 5G packs dual speakers that are backed by Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio. The phone is powered by a 4,500mAh battery that supports up to 60W SuperDart fast charging. In terms of connectivity, the handset features 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/ A-GPS, USB-Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It measures 160.2×73.3×7.99mm and weighs 182 grams.
