Finally, the RealMe 2 has been launched in India. This is the second smartphone from Oppo’s sub-brand RealMe and the Realme 2 comes with features such as face unlock, a 4,230mAh battery, dual 4G VoLTE support, and up to 4GB of RAM. The 3GB RAM with 32GB storage variant is priced at Rs 8,990, whereas the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage variant will set you back by Rs 10,990.
However, the predecessor RealMe 1 was launched with 16nm MediaTek Helio P60 chipset and the successor RealMe 2 is coming with Snapdragon 450 SoC. Surprisingly, the specifications of the RealMe 2 is exactly the same as the spec sheet which was leaked recently.
RealMe 2 Specifications
The Realme 2 sports a 6.2-inch HD+ (720×1520 pixels) in-cell panel with a 19:9 aspect ratio, the screen-to-body ratio of 88.8 percent, and maximum brightness of 360 nits. The device runs ColorOS 5.1 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo. As we mentioned earlier, the RealMe 2 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC, paired with 3GB/ 4GB RAM, and 32GB/ 64GB of onboard storage and an Adreno 506 GPU. The storage of the device can be expanded up to 256 GB via microSD card.
Talking about the cameras of the RealMe2, the device sports dual rear camera setup with a 13-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor with f/2.4 aperture. Up front, the RealMe 2 features an 8-megapixel sensor with fixed focus, a f/2.2 aperture, and an 85-degree wide-angle lens. The general connectivity options include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, Micro-USB with OTG support, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Coming to the battery capacity, the device packs a massive 4,230mAh battery with a bundled 5V/2A (10W) adaptor in the box.
Sensors of the RealMe 2 include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, face unlock sensor, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and proximity sensor. The RealMe 2 measures 156.2×75.6×8.2mm and weigh 168 grams.
RealMe 2 Price and Availability
The Realme 2 is priced at Rs. 8,990 for the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant and Rs. 10,990 for the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant in India. The company is partnered with HDFC bank to offer Flat Rs. 750 discount with HDFC Bank credit and debit card purchases and Jio is providing up to 120GB additional data and benefits worth up to Rs. 4,200, and no-cost EMI options. The RealMe 2 will go on sale in India starting via Flipkart on September 4. As for now, the smartphone will be sold in Diamond Black and Diamond Red color options while the Diamond Blue option will go on sale in October.
