PubG Addiction Lands Jammu Fitness Trainer in Hospital

PubG is an popular online game developed by PUBG Corporation and it has been downloaded over 100 million times since its release. It is a player vs player action game in which 100 or more players fight to remain alive as a planet depletes of most of its population.

Now, the worst incident showing the risks of PUBG addiction has been reported in Jammu. This is the sixth case reported in Jammu, the fitness trainer played popular online game PubG for 10 days. He suffered and was hospitalized after he started hitting himself with blows after completing one of the rounds.

The neurologist who is treating the patient said that he still recognized people but he is not quite conscious and is still under the influence of the game. The doctor insisted that he has “partially lost his mental balance”.

“He is under observation and we have started the treatment. We are hopeful that he will be fine soon,” said the doctor.

“These are the cases that have been examined and diagnosed after the patients were brought to the hospital but we apprehend that there might be many other such cases which were left ignored or not understood by families,” said a doctor.

According to the doctors, you should pay the attention to your children, especially if they prefer to sit alone and operate the mobile phone for many hours. The locals have also appealed to the Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik to ban such games in state and country.

“The night hour mobile use should not be ignored and if possible, the cellphones should not be in the custody of their children during night time to prevent them from entering into trauma, which could be fatal if it remains unchecked,” they added.

Previously, it was reported that a boy 15-year old boy being treated for PUBG addiction. The boy would play till late at night and started missing school. He would have more than 10,000 friends online and small number of friends in the real world. The problem worsened when the boy was unwilling to recognise it as an issue.

Games like Fortnite and PubG have gathered bad reputations, and people around the world are insisting on banning these games. WHO has expressed concerns about online games, suggesting that playing video games can affect the mental state.
