| By DWR Editor

Poco seems to be preparing to launch the Poco M2 Pro, the company’s next smartphone which has reportedly received the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certificate in India. Recently, in an interview, Poco India General Manager C Manmohanan said that a new Poco phone would launch in the next 20 to 25 days. Now, the certification for the Poco M2 Pro was spotted on the BIS portal, indicating towards the nearing launch of the new Poco device in India.

According to Tipster Mukul Sharma, the Bureau of India Standards (BIS) has certified the Poco M2 Pro with model number M2003J6CI. This is the same model number that was spotted on both the Bluetooth certification and Wi-Fi Alliance sites. Unfortunately, the certification doesn’t reveal any specs of the device.

Going by the previous reports, Poco M2 Pro is in the works with a codename “gram” and it reportedly packs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 720 SoC. The varied certifications listings hint that the handset will support Bluetooth v5 and dual-band Wi-Fi.

As per the reports, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Poco is coming up with two new smartphones in India: Poco M2 Pro, and Poco F2 Pro which was recently unveiled in Europe last month for EUR 499 (approx. Rs. 41,500). However, it is nothing but a rebranded version of the previously-launched Redmi K30 Pro.
