Pixel 3 Beats Apple iPhone XR In A Comprehensive Drop Test

| By DWR Editor

Almost all smartphone manufacturers are choosing glass materials on their devices. There are two reasons to switch. First, device manufacturers can equip their main devices with wireless charging. The second reason is that glass devices look better than metal devices. In addition, the use of this switch may make the device weaker, which may damage the device. This directly increases the cost of repairing expensive device.

Considering these factors, along with preliminary reports of the Google Pixel 3 devices getting damaged, YouTuber JerryRig detailed a drop test of the device. To make it more interesting, Zack compares this device with the Apple iPhone XR. The iPhone XR is the cheapest iPhone model released by Apple this year. He conducted eight tests to both the devices at different heights to simulate actual conditions, until the two devices were seriously damaged.

It provides a waiver of video that the drop test is unscientific because every drop is different in terms of where the body of the device hits the ground, the material on the ground, the angle of the drop, the times the device flipped in the air.

But at the end, the Google Pixel 3 comes out on the top. The reason for this is that the last drop damaged the back of the iPhone XR while the front panel already broken in the previous drop. For Pixel 3, the previous dropped had shattered the glass on the camera lens while damaging the glass on the top of the device. Zack insisted that he did not perform most of the drop test because the results were inconsistent. Instead, he mainly focuses on modding videos or regular torture tests.
