OnePlus’ OxygenOS is one of the best Android skins currently available. Instead of offering a heavily customized UI like MIUI, ColorOS, and EMUI, OnePlus has kept things simple, adding a few unique features to the user interface. There are enough tweaks and gestures that let you customize your experience, but the focus is on performance. The OnePlus’ Oxygen OS comes with a “Battery optimization” feature which prevents certain tasks from running when it is not in use. However, it is definitely not good for background sync apps.
According to a report from ‘Don’t Kill My App’, the new settings are making it impossible for many apps to function properly. “Not only did users need to enable extra settings to make their apps work properly, but those settings even get reset with a firmware update”, the report claims.
If you’re facing this battery optimization issue in your OnePlus device, then here is a solution.
- Turn off System Settings > Apps > Gear Icon > Special Access > Battery Optimization.
- Also, in some OnePlus devices, there is an option called “App Auto-Launch” which generally prevents apps from running in the background. Open it and disable it for your app that you want to prevent running in the background.
- You can also try, settings > Battery > Battery optimization and switch to the All apps list (Top menu) > Your app > Don’t optimize
