Oppo has launched Reno 5 series smartphones in the Chinese market. Dubbed as Oppo Reno 5 5G, Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G, both the phones come with an OLED display with 90Hz refresh rate, 4,300 mAh battery with 65W fast charging technology, quad-camera setup, and more.

Oppo Reno 5 5G is priced at CNY 2,699 (approx. Rs. 30,400) for the 8GB + 128GB storage variant while the 12GB + 256GB storage variant costs CNY 2,999 (approx. Rs. 33,700). The phone is offered in three colors – Aurora Blue, Moonlight Night, and Starry Night.
Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G comes with a price tag of CNY 3,399 (approx. Rs. 38,200) for the 8GB + 128GB storage variant and CNY 3,799 (roughly Rs. 42,700) for the 12GB + 256GB storage model. It also comes in Aurora Blue, Moonlight Night, and Starry Night colors. Both the phones are available for pre-orders and the company will start shipping from December 18 in China.

The Oppo Reno 5 5G sports a 6.43-inch IPS OLED Full HD+ display that has a punch-hole cutout for the front-facing camera. The display has a 1,080×2,400 pixels screen resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, 91.7 percent screen-to-body ratio, and 410ppi pixel density. Under the hood, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC.
It comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage which is not expandable. The device runs Android 11-based ColorOS 11.1 and is powered by a 4,300 mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging technology.
As for the camera, Oppo Reno 5 5G features a quad-camera setup on the back that includes a 64-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.7 lens, an 8-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle f/2.2 lens, a 2-megapixel macro shooter with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2-megapixel portrait shooter with an f/2.4 lens. On the front side, there’s a 32-megapixel snapper for taking selfies.
The device also has an in-display fingerprint sensor. It comes with support for dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/ A-GPS, Glonass, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port for charging. Oppo Reno 5 5G measures 159.1×73.4×7.9mm and weighs 172 grams.

The Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G comes with a 6.55-inch Full HD+ OLED display which offers 1,080×2,400 pixels screen resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, 92.1 percent screen-to-body ratio, and 402ppi pixel density. Under the hood, the device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ SoC, coupled with ARM G77 MC9 GPU. It is packed with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
In the camera department, there’s a 64-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.7 lens, an 8-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle f/2.2 lens, a 2-megapixel macro shooter with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2-megapixel portrait shooter with an f/2.4 lens — completing the quad-camera configuration. Taking care of the selfies and video calling needs is a 32-megapixel snapper placed on the front panel.
