Oppo K1 announced with Snapdragon 660, in-display fingerprint scanner

After a series of rumours, Oppo has finally unveiled the Oppo K1 smartphone at an event in China, as said. This is the first oppo’s mid-range k –series smartphone. The key highlights of the smartphone are its large AMOLED display and an in-display fingerprint scanner which is priced at 1599 yuan (approx. Rs 17,100). The smartphone will go sale starts from October 20.

Specifications

Moving to the specifications, The Oppo K1 features a 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen with a tiny waterdrop notch at the top which expands the screen real estate to 91 per cent and has a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels.

The device is armed by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 660 Mobile Platform with Adreno 512 graphics. And the handset is coupled with a4GB and 6GB RAM and coming to memory configurations, there is an inbuilt 64GB storage is expandable up to 256GB using a microSD card.

On the imaging duties, The smartphone comes with a dual camera set up at the back that combines a 16MP primary sensor with a 2MP depth sensor in addition to an LED flash. On the front, there’s a 25MP selfie camera as Oppo has been known for.

As for biometric security, the Oppo K1 equips an in-display fingerprint sensor on the front. On the software, Oppo’s K1 smartphone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with the company’s own ColorOS 5.2 interface on top. The device is fuelled by a 3,600mAh battery and thus measures 7.4mm on its thickest side. The Oppo K1 supports Dual 4G VoLTE with support for WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS and GLONASS.

Pricing

The Oppo K1 has come in colour options namely Mocha Red and Van Gogh Blue colours. The base variant with 64GB storage and 4GB RAM is priced at RMB 1,599 (Rs 17,000 approximately), while the top variant with 6GB RAM is priced at RMB 1,799 (Rs 19,200 approximately).
