Oppo is getting ready to unveil its first foldable smartphone. Chinese tipster WHYLAB claims that an Oppo foldable phone with the model number PEUM00 is currently being developed. The device has previously surfaced on MIIT certification. A device carrying the model number PEUM00 has now been spotted on Geekbench. The Geekbench listing provides details on the specs of the upcoming Oppo foldable phone. Additionally, the handset is spotted on the Camera FV-5 website that reveals the device’s camera specifications.
According to Geekbench’s listing, the Oppo foldable phone is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 888 processor and 12GB of RAM. In terms of the software, the handset will boot Android 11 right out of the box. Oppo’s foldable phone scored 925 on the single-core test and 3,364 points on the multi-core test in the benchmark results.
The Camera FV-5 website reports that the Oppo foldable phone will have a 12.6MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture, a maximum resolution of 4096×3072 pixels, an OIS, and an EIS support. Based on these camera specifications, we can expect the device to capture a 50MP image with four-in-one pixel binning.
It will have an 8.1MP selfie camera, as per the Camera FV-5 website. It will feature an 8.1MP sensor with a resolution of 3280*2464 pixels, an aperture of f/2.4, and an electronic image stabilization feature. On the front, we can expect a 32MP camera. According to previous leaks, the Oppo foldable phone will have an 8-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is expected that the device will adopt the same in-ward folding design as that of the Galaxy Z Fold 3. It is believed that the smartphone will be powered by a 4,500mAh battery with 65W fast charging support.
Oppo has not revealed the launch date for the foldable phone. According to rumors, the device will launch in China on December 14th at the Oppo Inno Day 2021 event.
