Oppo confirms upcoming Reno 5 Pro+ with 50MP camera, Snapdragon 865 SoC

Oppo recently confirmed that the OPPO Reno5 Pro+ smartphone will officially launch in China on December 24. While the device was spotted on a few leaks earlier, a new Weibo post by Oppo confirms some key specifications of the Reno5 Pro+.

The Chinese smartphone maker confirmed the handset will be powered by the Oppo Reno 5 Pro+. It is also confirmed to come with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary sensor as part of the phone’s quad-camera setup. Oppo has also added  65W fast charging support in the smartphone. OPPO Reno5 Pro+ price for China has not been made public.

To recall, the Oppo Reno 5 Pro+ was earlier appeared on TENAA and benchmarking site Geekbench listings. As per the Geekbench listing, the Oppo Reno 5 Pro+ will be powered by Snapdragon 865 chipset and it will pack 8GB of RAM. The handset will boot the latest Android 11 operating system out of the box.

Oppo Reno 5 Pro+ Specifications (Expected)

As far as specifications are concerned, Oppo Reno 5 Pro+ is said to come equipped with a 6.55-inch Full HD+ display with a 1080 × 2400 resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. Oppo will add a 4,500mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging under the hood of the phone.

As far as cameras are concerned, there will be a quad-camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel camera with a 16-megapixel superwide lens, a 13-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 2-megapixel macro shooter. For selfies, it will have a 32-megapixel front camera.

The company could launch the device with 8GB or 12GB of RAM along with 128GB or 256GB of storage. It is tipped to measure 159.9×2.5×7.99mm and weighs 184 grams.
