Oppo A55s goes official: Price, specifications

Earlier this week, Oppo A55s renders appeared on Geekbench, Bluetooth SIG, and FCC databases ahead of launch. Now, the phone has been launched in Japan, and it’s expected to hit other markets in South Asia soon. The device will go for sale starting next week.

Oppo A55s Specifications

Oppo A55s sports a 6.5-inch full HD+ screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 480 SoC powers the handset, along with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. MicroSD cards can be used to expand storage.

On the camera front, the Oppo A55s features a dual-camera system on the back with a primary 13-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture coupled with a 2-megapixel depth sensor and a LED flash. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies. Among the camera app’s features are Ultra Night Mode, Portrait Mode, and AI Scene Enhancement.

For the first time, Oppo is providing some type of dust and water resistance with an A-series phone as the Oppo A55s appears to have an IP rating. According to some reports, it is IPX8/IP6X. It ships with Android 11-based ColorOS 11 skin. There is a 4000mAh battery on the phone that supports fast-charging up to 18W. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band WiFi, 4G with VoLTE, 5G, a USB-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
