On Thursday, OnePlus launched its new Nord CE 5G model through a live stream. There are some major differences between the new smartphone and the original OnePlus Nord that was launched last year. It is claimed to be the slimmest OnePlus phone since the OnePlus 6T launch in October 2018. Besides the matte and glossy back finish, the smartphone is available in three different colors.

OnePlus Nord CE 5G 6GB + 128GB variant is priced at Rs. 22,999 while the 8GB + 128GB and top-end 12GB + 256GB variants come with a price tag Rs. 24,999 and Rs. 27,999 respectively. There are three colors available: Blue Void (matte), Charcoal Ink (glossy), and Silver Ray. Starting June 16, the smartphone will be available at Amazon and OnePlus.in. OnePlus will begin taking pre-bookings for the new phone on Friday, June 11.
Customers buying the OnePlus Nord CE 5G with an HDFC Bank credit card or through EMI transactions will get a discount of Rs 1,000, and Jio subscribers who recharge with the Rs. 999 tariff plan will get benefits worth Rs 6,000. A discount of Rs. 500 will also be offered for customers who purchase both the OnePlus Buds Z and OnePlus Band through the OnePlus.in the website along with their OnePlus Nord CE devices. A no-cost EMI option will also be available. OnePlus Red Cable members pre-ordering the OnePlus Nord CE via Amazon are also entitled to receive an Rs. 500 cashback.

The OnePlus Nord CE 5G runs on Android 11 with OxygenOS 11. The device has a 6.43-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) AMOLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a 90Hz refresh rate. An octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G SoC is integrated into the phone, along with Adreno 619 graphics and 6GB of RAM.
OnePlus Nord CE 5G is fitted with a triple camera setup on the rear with a combination of a 64-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.79 lens and electronic image stabilization (EIS), 8-megapixel secondary sensor with an f/2.25 ultra-wide lens. and a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor with an f/2.4 lens.
There is a 16-megapixel Sony IMX471 selfie camera on the front of the OnePlus Nord CE that has an f/2.45 lens and EIS support. The rear camera setup on OnePlus Nord CE 5G supports features including multi-autofocus (using PDAF+CAF). Other features of the camera setup are Nightscape, UltraShot HDR, Portrait, Panorama, Pro mode, and Smart Scene recognition. It also supports video recording in 4K resolution with 30fps.
It comes equipped with 256GB of onboard storage. Among its connectivity options are 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/ A-GPS/ NaVIC, NFC, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm jack headphone jack. In addition, the phone includes an in-display fingerprint sensor and a superlinear speaker with noise cancellation.
It has a 4,500mAh battery that supports OnePlus’ proprietary Warp Charge 30T Plus technology that is claimed to charge the phone from zero to 70 percent in just half an hour. With 159.2×73.5×7.9mm dimensions, the OnePlus Nord CE 5G weighs 170 grams.
