The OnePlus Nord 2 and OnePlus Buds Pro TWS earbuds will be unveiled together on July 22. Now, the Chinese smartphone company confirmed that the Nord 2 will have a 6.43-inch 90Hz AMOLED display. This is the successor to OnePlus Nord, which was introduced in July last year.
According to leaked renders, the phone will feature a hole-punch display design with slim bezels all around. OnePlus Nord 2 5G leaked renders show a hole-punch cutout located at the top left corner of the display. A single selfie camera appears to be on the OnePlus Nord 2 instead of two on its predecessor.
OnePlus revealed the key specifications of its upcoming Nord 2 on Facebook, including its 6.43-inch AMOLED display, 90Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ certification. OnePlus Nord from last year featured a 6.44-inch AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate but the display does not support HDR10+. The Amazon listing for the OnePlus Nord 2 indicates that the phone will have the typical OnePlus orientation for the buttons with a power button and an alert slider on the right side of the phone and a left-mounted volume rocker. The bottom of the device has a speaker cutout next to the USB Type-C port. You can also see a speaker grille above the display.
91Mobiles has shared renders that show the OnePlus Nord 2 5G with a slim bezel on all sides, and a small hole for the selfie camera in the top left corner. You can see the same button orientation here as well. The device features the same flat display as the predecessor OnePlus Nord. It appears that the only visual difference between the two is that there is no selfie camera on the Nord 2.
OnePlus also announced an initiative called “The Lab.” Fans can test the Nord 2 and the Buds Pro to provide their feedback.
