OnePlus, the popular Chinese smartphone maker plans to expand with a focus on Tier 2 cities by partnering with Reliance Digital. The company is already tied up with Tata-owned retail chain for electronics, Croma back in September. OnePlus tests offline smartphone sales with Reliance Retail tie-up and the company is testing offline handset sales with India’s Best Online Electronic Shopping Store, Reliance Digital.
As part of the partnership, the company will open OnePlus kiosks inside 20 Reliance Digital stores across the country. According to a report by Business Standard, General Manager for OnePlus India, Vikas Agarwal stated that this move will improve the visibility of the company to strengthen its position against its rivals. This will also allow OnePlus to reach a new audience in the segment where it does not “have a larger presence”.
The report likewise included that Reliance Digital may declare some special offers that have not been declared at this moment. It is likely that the company will step by step extend the Kiosks in more Reliance Digital stores in the market. Be that as it may, for the present, an underlying parcel of Reliance Digital Stores to get the stands incorporates Mohali, Ghaziabad, Mangalore, Visakhapatnam, and Bhubaneswar along with other “high-growth Tier-1 cities”.
The report also included that the Kiosks will launch from 30th of this month to target the Diwali sales and they will only stock the OnePlus 6. Another upcoming flagship OnePlus 6T will come to kiosks after the launch. OnePlus is also increasing the number of exclusive OnePlus Experience and Authorized stores across Tier-1 cities in India and this will create more offline touchpoints that can complement ‘online first’ presence to strengthen its position against its competitors. The offline experience can create a lot of comfort in the mind of the customer and can also attract new customers.
