OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro, OnePlus 9R, OnePlus Watch launched in India: Price, specs and more

Smartphone maker OnePlus on Tuesday launched its latest OnePlus 9 series smartphones -OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro, and OnePlus 9R. Alongside, the brand also unveiled the OnePlus Watch.

OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro, OnePlus 9R and OnePlus Watch Price in India, Availability

The OnePlus 9 price in India starts at Rs 49,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant while the 12GB + 256GB storage model comes with a price tag of Rs. 54,999. The OnePlus 9 Pro, on the other hand, has 8GB RAM + 128GB storage option at a price tag of Rs. 64,999 and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model at Rs. 69,999.

The OnePlus 9R launched with a price tag of Rs. 39,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and Rs. 43,999 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. OnePlus Watch carries a price tag of Rs. 16,999 in India.

OnePlus 9 comes in Arctic Sky, Astral Black, and Winter Mist colors whereas the OnePlus 9 Pro will be available in Morning Mist, Pine Green, and Stellar Black color options. These two phones are available for pre-order via the OnePlus online store. Carbon Black and Lake Blue are two color options of the OnePlus 9R. The pre-orders for this phone will begin in April. 

OnePlus Watch will be available in a Stainless Steel case that has Midnight Black and Midnight Silver shades. It will also come in a Cobalt Limited Edition version that features a Cobalt Alloy case in Gold color.

OnePlus 9 specifications

OnePlus 9 comes equipped with a 6.55-inch full-HD+ Fluid Display AMOLED display with 1,080×2,400 pixels resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, and 120Hz refresh rate. It is protected by a 3D Corning Gorilla Glass. The phone gets an octa-core Snapdragon 888 SoC paired with 8GB and 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB and 256GB of UFS 3.1 which is not expandable. There is also a multi-layered cooling system called the OnePlus Cool Play.

In terms of optics, you get a triple rear camera setup with a combination of a 48-megapixel Sony IMX689 main sensor, with an f/1.8 lens and electronic image stabilization (EIS), a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 secondary sensor with an ultra-wide-angle f/2.2 Freeform lens, and a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor. Upfront, there is a 16-megapixel Sony IMX471 camera with an f/2.4 lens.

It runs on Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 skin. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. There is also an in-display fingerprint sensor. Backed by a 4,500mAh battery, the handset supports Warp Charge 65T fast charging. The North American and European versions of the OnePlus 9 also come with 15W Qi wireless charging.

OnePlus has provided dual stereo speakers along with Dolby Atmos support. It measures 160×73.9×8.1mm and weighs 183 grams.

OnePlus 9 Pro specifications

OnePlus 9 Pro runs on OxygenOS 11, based on Android 11. The device sports a 6.7-inch QHD+ (1,440×3,216 pixels) Fluid Display 2.0 AMOLED display. The display also has low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) technology that enables the Smart 120Hz feature. This helps reduce power consumption by up to 50 percent by automatically matching the refresh rate to the current user scenario — from 1Hz for viewing photos and reading text to 24Hz for watching movies and as high as 120Hz for smooth scrolling.

In addition to the Smart 120Hz feature, the OnePlus 9 Pro has Hyper Touch support that increases the touch-responsive rate to 360Hz when playing mobile games. The proprietary feature currently supports titles such as PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile, League of Legends, and Brawl Stars.

Under the hood, the OnePlus 9 Pro has the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC mated with 8GB and 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and non-expandable 128GB/256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

For photography, it has a quad rear camera setup that comprises a 48-megapixel Sony IMX789 primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens that has optical image stabilization (OIS) and EIS support. The camera setup also includes a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 secondary sensor with an f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle Freeform lens, an 8-megapixel telephoto shooter, and a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor. For selfies and video calls, it features a 16-megapixel sensor with an f/2.4 lens and EIS support.

Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. The phone has an in-display fingerprint sensor.

It is fuelled by a 4,500mAh battery with support for Warp Charge 65T and Warp Charge 50 Wireless fast charging. The phone also comes with a charging adapter that can deliver up to 45W power using USB PD or PPS on other devices, including laptops and tablets. The device is also an IP68-certified body for dust and water resistance. The device measures 163.2×73.6×8.7mm and weighs 197 grams.

OnePlus 9R specifications

OnePlus 9R ships with Android 11 with OxygenOS 11 skin. The phone is fitted with a 6.5-inch full HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and in-display fingerprint sensor. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC, the phone has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. 

On the rear, it has a quad rear camera setup. The camera module includes a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with OIS, a 16MP Sony IMX481 ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5MP macro lens, and a 5MP monochrome sensor. You get a 16MP selfie shooter as well. 

The handset gets juice from a 4,500mAh battery that supports Warp Charge 65 fast charging. Connectivity features include 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and USB Type-C port.

OnePlus Watch specifications

OnePlus Watch comes with a 1.39-inch HD (454×454 pixels) AMOLED display along with a 2.5D curved glass protection. The company has also added ‘seamless connection’ support to the OnePlus watch that lets you receive voice calls and app notifications directly on your wrist. 

The company claims that the OnePlus Watch can even turn off the OnePlus TV 30 minutes after it detects that you are asleep or lower the volume of the TV when you get an incoming call on your connected phone. It is loaded with 110 workout modes. Through the inbuilt sensors, the OnePlus watch can automatically detect jogging, running and other workouts.

Other features of the watch include SpO2 monitoring, stress detection, breathing, rapid heart rate alerts, and sedentary reminders. All this data can be monitored and tracked using the OnePlus Health app.

It also supports Bluetooth and standalone GPS. The OnePlus watch is IP68-certified and also comes with 5ATM water resistance.

It is fitted with a 405mAh battery that supports Warp Charge fast charging. The company claims that the watch can offer 1 week of battery life just 20 minutes of charge and a day-long power in five minutes.
