OnePlus 8 series price in India announced, starts at Rs 41,999

After announcing the OnePlus 8 series globally, the Chinese giant stayed afar from announcing anything for the Indian market. Now, OnePlus has announced the pricing and availability of the OnePlus 8 series in India. Alongside the new smartphone series, the brand has also unveiled the OnePlus Bullets Z in India for Rs 1,999.

OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro Price in India

OnePlus 8 is priced at Rs. 41,999 in India. OnePlus 8 Pro will come with a starting price tag of Rs. Rs. 54,999. The mentioned prices are for the base models only. OnePlus 8 will be available in Onyx Black, Glacial Green, Interstellar Glow color variants. The high-end OnePlus 8 Pro comes in Onyx Black, Glacial Green, Ultramarine Blue color variants.

To recall, the brand has launched the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro in the US with a starting price of $699 (approx. Rs. 53,000) and $899 (approx. Rs. 68,000) respectively. So, the series comes with a much lower price tag compared to US pricing. The OnePlus 8 series will go on sale in India in May. However, the brand hasn’t revealed the availability yet. Interested buyers can subscribe to the notify button on Amazon India.

The OnePlus 8 base variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage costs Rs. 41,999 and this is exclusive to Amazon India. The 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model has been priced at Rs. 44,999, and the top-end variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage comes with a price tag of Rs. 49,999. The 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB models will be available across all online and offline channels including Amazon India, OnePlus India website, and presumably the OnePlus experience store and Croma.

The OnePlus 8 Pro 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model has been priced at Rs. 54,999 in India and the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant launched for Rs. 59,999. OnePlus 8 Pro will go on sale on Amazon India and offline stores.

OnePlus 8 specifications

OnePlus 8 features a 6.55-inch Full HD+ display that has a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate. The display also has 1100nits brightness, HDR10+ support, 20:9 aspect ratio, and 40 percent Less Blue Light. The smartphone runs on OxygenOS based on Android 10 and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset. It offers up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB  UFS 3.0 internal storage.

On the camera front, it houses a triple rear camera setup at the back that has 48-megapixel primary lens with a Sony IMX586 sensor, a 16-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a macro lens. For selfies, it sports a 32 MP primary sensor and an infrared sensor on the front.

OnePlus 8 is equipped with a 4300mAh battery with Wrap Charge 30T support. The handset also has dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and it comes with Haptic Vibration 2.0.

OnePlus 8 Pro specifications

It sports a 6.78-inch Quad HD+ AMOLED display that comes with a 120Hz refresh rate. The display has a 240Hz touch sampling rate, 1200nits brightness, HDR10+ support, JNCD=0.4, 10-bit colors, MEMC and it comes with 40 percent less Blue Light. OnePlus 8 Pro also runs on Oxygen OS based on Android 10 and it is also powered by Snapdragon 865 processor. The smartphone offers up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB internal storage.

The company claims the new Oxygen OS will offer smoother animation, improved Dark Theme, Dynamic Wallpaper, and Live Caption. Users will 100GB of Google One cloud storage free for three months.

In the camera department, you will see a quad-camera setup and the setup includes a 48-megapixel Sony IMX689 sensor, f/1.7 aperture, OIS, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera with Sony IMX586 sensor, f/2.2 aperture, a 3x telephoto lens with f/2.2 aperture with 30x digital zoom, OIS and a Color Filter Camera. It comes with dynamic video with 3-HDR technology, hybrid image stabilization and three microphones with Audio Zoom. 

It houses a 4510mAh battery that supports Wrap Charge 30T. It is the first smartphone from OnePlus to support wireless charging. The OnePlus 8 Pro also has Wrap Charge 30 Wireless charging support.
