Nubia X 5G Powered by Snapdragon 855 SoC Announced

Samsung and Huawei have already launched their first 5G smartphone this year and brands such as OnePlus and Xiaomi have also confirmed the launch of their 5G smartphones this year. Another Chinese giant, Nubia, the sub-brand of ZTE has unveiled its first 5G phone Nubia X 5G, which is basically a new variant of the Nubia X. To recall, the company has announced the launch of its first 5G-enabled smartphone during the Shanghai Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 in China.

Officially, the company hasn’t revealed anything about the new Nubia X 5G. However, it’s likely to have the same internals as the earlier launched Nubia X, except for the processor and modem. On the hardware front, nothing’s particularly new about the Nubia X 5G when compared to the Nubia X. The only difference is the support for the 5G.

Nubia X Specifications

The Nubia X sports a 6.26-inch display on the front with 2280 x 1080 pixels screen resolution with an impressive 93.6% screen-to-body ratio. On the back side, there’s a 5.1-inch display with 19:9 aspect ratio and 1520 x 720 pixels resolution.

On the inside, we have Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 845 chipset with up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card. The phone houses the 3800 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support.

In terms of optics, the handset features a dual camera set up at the back that includes one 16 megapixel sensor and one 24 megapixel snapper. The camera features dual pixel PDAF, AI scene recognition, HDR, AI portrait mode and slow-motion video recording at 240fps. The smartphone comes with two variants: 6 GB RAM variant comes with 64 GB of internal storage whereas the 8 GB RAM variant comes with 128 and 256 GB of internal storage.

On the software front, the device runs Android 8.1 Oreo OS. The connectivity features on the Nubia X include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and a 3.5mm audio jack.
