Chinese phone maker Nubia launched the Nubia Red Magic 5G gaming smartphone in China. The Nubia Red Magic 5G has been priced at CNY 3,799 (approx. Rs. 40,300) in its ‘base’ 8GB/128GB configuration. Being a gaming-centric smartphone, cameras are not a key highlight of the Nubia Red Magic 5G but it still comes with a decent 64-megapixel primary sensor on the rear. However, it has only an 8-megapixel shooter up front.
Nubia Red Magic 5G Specifications
As far as the spec details are concerned, the Nubia Red Magic 5G comes with 6.65-inch AMOLED FHD + screen with 144Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz screen touch reporting rate. The display has 1080 x 2340 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The phone draws power from the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC paired with Adreno 650 GPU. It has up to 16GB of RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage.
For optics, Nubia Red Magic 5G comes with a three-camera setup at the back. The primary camera has a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 sensor whereas the secondary camera comes with an 8-megapixel super-wide-angle sensor. There is also a 2-megapixel macro lens. For selfies, the phone has an 8-megapixel (f/2.0 aperture) front camera.
The handset packs a 4,500mAh battery and supports 55W air-cooled fast charging. The company claims that with the 55W 10A charging support the handset will charge 56 percent in just 15 minutes. The smartphone supports 5G support, Wi-Fi 6, GPS, Bluetooth, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The device measures 168.56x78x9.75mm in size and weigh 218 grams.
Nubia has also added an air and liquid-cooled dual cooling system that has a 1 gram ultra-light fan that can spin up to 15,000RPM to prevent overheating. The device comes with two IC shoulder buttons for up to 300Hz touch sampling rate which allows for a better gaming experience. It has 7 dock points on the side as well that allow you to connect accessories.
Nubia Red Magic 5G Price, Availability
Nubia Red Magic 5G has arrived in four variants: 8GB + 128GB, 12GB + 128GB, 12GB + 256GB, and 16GB + 256GB. The base variant is priced at CNY 3,799 (approx. Rs. 40,300), the second variant is priced at CNY 4,099 (approx. Rs. 43,500) while the 12GB + 256GB variant costs CNY 4,399 (approx. Rs. 46,700). The top-end variant, on the other hand, is priced at CNY 4,999 (approx. Rs. 53,000).
It will be available in Hacker Black, Mars Red, Cyber Neon, and a transparent edition. The Red Magic 5G is already up for pre-orders in China on the Jingdong Mall website with a deposit of CNY 100 (approx. Rs. 1,000). The company hasn’t revealed anything regarding the global launch of the phone.
