WhatsApp is coming up with a new feature which will enable you to share your WhatsApp status updates as the Facebook stories. Currently, this feature is still under testing in the WhatsApp Beta program. For the Beta users, you will be able to see a Facebook sharing option below the WhatsApp status update.
But to enable this, does this require linking of both Facebook and WhatsApp accounts with each other? Facebook, the parent company of WhatsApp told that it will be using a standard data sharing API for Android and iOS. Which means you can share the WhatsApp status to other applications like Gmail, Google Photos, Instagram and more.
Facebook also clarifies that if any shares a specific story or post to both Facebook or Instagram, two different posts will be created in the systems and WhatsApp will not be linked with Facebook or Instagram in any way.
Facebook also shared that WhatsApp Stories feature got over 500 million daily active users across the globe. As we already know that Facebook is planning to monetize WhatsApp stories which means we will come across advertisements while browsing stories.
In the present Beta Version of WhatsApp, users are required to manually share their status to either Facebook or Instagram. There is no automatic share feature available as of now.
