What if you can get high-end mobiles on rent? Cool. Right? RentoMojo a new startup company now offering smartphones like iPhone X, iPhone 8, Google Pixel 2, and Samsung Galaxy Note 8 on rent.
Mainly, RentoMojo is a website launched in 2014 that is used to deal in renting of furniture, electronics, and vehicles. But now they are starting to offer high-end mobiles on rent.
“Consumers can now subscribe to or obtain smartphones on the lease, through our RMI (Rental Monthly Instalments) system, as opposed to purchasing and owning,” Geetansh Bamania, founder and CEO RentoMojo said.
The company’s official website listed some high-end mobiles for rent including Google Pixel 2, Apple iPhone 8, and Apple iPhone X. Users can lease a smartphone for a period of six months, 12 months, 18 months or 24 months, with monthly rentals starting as low as Rs 2,099.
“This arrangement offers the perfect opportunity for users to upgrade and keep up with the latest device innovation, frequently and at a significantly lower cost. In addition, a subscriber also has the option of owning the product by paying a certain sum, post the lease period,” Bamania added.
iPhone X
RentoMojo listed iPhone X at Rs. 4,299 per month on rent if you book the device for 24 months. If you book the iPhone X for half a year, you have to pay Rs. 9,299 per month. The longer the tenure of renting, the more benefits are offered to the consumer. So if you book device for more days then you will get more benefits like less price. If after the end of 24 months, you wish to own the iPhone X for good, the user will need to pay an additional Rs. 15,556. RentoMojo also takes Rs. 9,998 as an initial refundable deposit.
Google Pixel 2
Google Pixel 2 listed on the RentoMojo at Rs. 2,099 per month for 24 months. 6 months’ rent goes up to Rs. 5,398 per month. A refundable deposit of Rs. 5,398 is taken from the customer as a refundable deposit on the Google Pixel 2. Similar rental offers are listed for the iPhone 8, Samsung Galaxy S9 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 as well.
Apple iPhone 8
You can get the iPhone 8 64GB variant for as low as Rs 3,967 per month. To start with, you will have to make a down payment of Rs 8,798. And further, you will have to pay Rs 7,399 for six months, Rs 4,399 for 12 months, Rs 4,085 for 18 months or Rs 3,967 for 24 months.
For many these offers seems funny. But for people who need premium smartphones to show up for some days, this website is absolutely handy.
The company RentoMojo is also in discussions with other players to make more devices available on its platform. So we can expect some more smartphones on RentoMojo.
But as of now, the RentoMojo service is only available in cities like Bengaluru, Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai and Noida and will be expanded to Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune in the next quarter, company stated.
