Smartphones exploding or bursting into flames is surely not new. YouTube has various such bunch of videos and it’s quite hard to guess which one is true or fake. Just a year ago, Samsung confronted a noteworthy emergency when it needed to review a huge number of Galaxy Note 7 units after different reports of the cell phone bursting into flames. Further, many airlines and airport authorities banned the use of the Note 7 on the flight. According to Samsung, the Note 7 fires and explosions were caused due to faulty batteries.
Now once again, Samsung’s latest smartphone Galaxy Note 9 is in news. The Samsung Note 9 is the latest smartphone from the Korean smartphone manufacturer Samsung that launched globally, recently. After a few months of launch, the smartphone has exploded and the user has issued a lawsuit against the company. It is worth to mention that it is the first case of an exploding Samsung Galaxy Note 9 has been reported.
According to a report, a woman from America has issued a lawsuit against Samsung. Diane Chung had quit using her Galaxy Note 9 when it turned out to be ‘excessively hot’ and kept it inside the purse. All of a sudden, she saw a thick smoke leaving her bag. Froze, she tossed her pack on the floor and began discharging it. Ms Chung told the New York Post the experience was “awful”, it demolished everything in her pack and left her unfit to contact customers.
The CEO Koh Dong-jin has responded to this incident and stated “The battery in the Galaxy Note 9 is safer than ever. Users do not have to worry about the batteries anymore. Samsung takes customer safety very seriously and we stand behind the quality of the millions of Galaxy devices in use in the United States,” Samsung said in a statement. “We have not received any reports of similar incidents involving a Galaxy Note 9 device and we are investigating the matter.”
The truth of the matter is that lithium-ion batteries, a kind of innovation utilized in all cell phones, are generally flimsy, and can overheat or even explode because of heap factors.
At last, be careful with your devices while charging and don’t use any third-party chargers. So, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 owners can breathe safe, unless further reports follow.
