Nokia’s unannounced smartphone bags Bluetooth certification, believed to be Nokia 2.4’s successor

HMD Global is working on a new affordable smartphone, believed to be a successor to the Nokia 2.4. Ahead of the company making anything about the phone official, leaks have revealed some of the phone’s specifications.

An unannounced Nokia phone featuring model number T99652AA1 has been certified by the Bluetooth SIG, bringing the phone one step closer to launch. The model number is similar to the Nokia 2.4’s T99651AA1 model number. So, it is expected to be the successor of Nokia 2.4.

The Bluetooth certification authority’s documents reveal that the Nokia T99652AA1 will have support for Bluetooth 5.0 and LTE connectivity. Apart from these, no other details are revealed yet. 

Nokia 2.4 Specifications

The Nokia 2.4 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 SoC. The chip is paired with up to 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage that is expandable up to 512GB via microSD card. 

The Nokia 2.4 packs a 4,500 mAh battery that claims to deliver 2 days of battery life. The phone sports a 6.5-inch HD+ panel with a screen resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The phone opts for a waterdrop notch for the 5-megapixel front camera with f/2.4 aperture (3P lens).

Additionally, the dual-camera setup on the back includes a 13-megapixel, f/2.2 (5P lens) primary sensor paired with a 2-megapixel depth camera. The phone features a dedicated Google Assistant Button and a fingerprint sensor on the rear.

Connectivity options on the Nokia 2.4 include  Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS + GLONASS, micro USB, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The handset weighs 189g and measures 165.87×76.30×8.69mm.
