Nokia 7.1 to Launch in India on December 6

HMD Global is set to unveil another set of Nokia smartphones in December. Company is already scheduled an event in Dubai on December 5 where it is expected to launch three new Nokia phones. Surprisingly, company has started sending invites for an upcoming launch event, scheduled for November 6 in New Delhi. So some of these phones may make it to India the next day. The event will likely to launch the Nokia 7.1, which was launched in London last month.

The invite does not reveal whether it is for the launch of Nokia 7.1 or not, but rather there are a couple of hints to believe this might be the phone that HMD unveils on December 6. To start with, HMD global has already launched majority of its phones to India as of now and the Nokia 7.1 and the Nokia X7 are the main two phones that are yet to launch in India. The Nokia X7 will allegedly be called Nokia 8.1 internationally. We are inclining more towards the Nokia 7.1, be that as it may, in light of the fact that the tweet posted by the company so far reveals a smartphone with a small notch, which adjusts us to the Nokia 7.1.

Separately, Nokia has also announced Android 9 Pie update for the Nokia 7.1. So, this will be the forth smartphone from Nokia to receive the Android Pie update after the Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 6.1 and Nokia 6.1 Plus.

The Nokia 7.1 boasts a PureDisplay notched panel and 5.84-inch display with 1080 x 2280 pixel resolution. It is protected by Gorilla Glass 3.

The Nokia 7.1 is powered by a Qualcomm’s mid-range Snapdragon 636 SoC paired with either 3 or 4GB of RAM coupled with 32 or 64GB of internal storage, respectively. And there is an option to expand the storage through a dedicated micro SD slot.

In terms of optics, the phone comes with an 8MP f/2.0 selfie camera supporting AI-enhanced face unlock, while the back has a 12MP main shooter with f/1.8 aperture and a 5MP black and white camera. On the rear side, the device boasts a Zeiss optics and several nifty software features like the “bothie” mode that lets you take stills or record videos using the back and front cameras at the same time. The front camera also comes with something the company called ‘3D Personas, which Nokia’s take on Animoji.

The Nokia 7.1 packs a 3,060 mAh battery supporting fast charging via the USB-C connector on the bottom of the device. The company claims the device get 50% charge in just 30 minutes.
