 The HMD Global, on Tuesday, unveiled Nokia 2.1, Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 5.1 o at an event that held in Moscow. The three handsets are updated versions of Nokia 2, Nokia 3and Nokia 5 which was launched on the previous year. While the Nokia 3.1 Nokia 5.1 shares same aspect ratio 18:9 displays which are taller than previous one, the Nokia 2.1 makes do, yet again, with the same 16:9 panel.

Remarkably, the Nokia 2.1 is an Android Go handset while the latter two are Android One phones with updated design language and hardware.

Nokia 2.1, Nokia 3.1, Nokia 5.1 price, availability

HMD Global has listed the three new Nokia phones on Nokia’s India page and also briefly listed their prices as well before taking it down. As per the listing, the Nokia 2.1 will be priced at Rs 6,999, while the Nokia 3.1 will start at Rs 9,498 and the Nokia 5.1 will cost Rs 12,499. These prices are similar to last year’s models, but we can only know for sure once the phones come to India.

Specifications

Nokia 2.1

The Nokia 2 (2018) or Nokia 2.1 comes with a 5.5-inch HD screen with a 16:9 aspect ratio and offers dual front-firing speakers. The plastic body will be highlighted with accents that will come in either Copper or Silver. HMD announced three colour variants – Blue Copper, Blue Silver and Grey Silver.

It is powered by a Snapdragon 425 chipset and is optimised to consume 10 percent less power than its predecessor. It runs Android Oreo (Go edition). This is paired with 1GB of RAM and will be offered with 8GB of internal storage, expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.

It houses a massive 4,000mAh battery which gives 2-day battery life promise of its predecessor.

For shutterbugs, The handset bears a single 8-megapixel rear sensor with autofocus and an LED flash. As for the front, the smartphone gets a 5-megapixel fixed focus selfie camera.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Nokia 3.1

The Nokia 3 (2018) or Nokia 3.1 is a refreshed version of last year’s Nokia 3 brings the dual anodized diamond cut design that has been seen on high-end Nokia phones. It is available in three colour variant. Blue Copper, Black Chrome and White Iron

It bears a 5.2-inch HD screen with an 18:9 display and is powered by a MediaTek 6750N chipset, delivering 50 percent more power than before. This will be offered in a choice of 2GB and 3GB of RAM along with 16GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB.

The phone houses a 2,990mAh battery and supports a micro USB port.

For shutterbugs, The Nokia 3.1 sports a 13MP rear sensor with LED flash and a feature called automatic scene detection. Up front, you get an 8MP selfie shooter with a wide-angle lens.

Connectivity on the Nokia 3.1 consists of 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a Micro-USB port.

Nokia 5.1

Moving over to the Nokia 5 (2018) or Nokia 5.1, which builds upon last year’s Nokia 5. The phone is crafted out a single block of Series 6000 aluminium with rounded corners around the back for a comfortable in-hand feel.

It sports a 5.5-inch FHD+ display with an 18:9 display and 443 PPI pixel density. HMD says the new Nokia 5 offers 40 per cent smoother performance with a 2.0GHz octa-core MediaTek 6755S chipset which is paired with either 2GB or 3GB of RAM and 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, respectively with microSD card support.

The phone houses 3000mAh battery under the hood.
