Last year, Finnish smartphone maker Nokia has introduced the Nokia 1 in association to Google’s Android Go program. Now, a new leak has appeared online, hinting at the successor of Nokia 1. This leak also revealed the specs of the upcoming Nokia 1 Plus and suggested that this smartphone may be announced at MWC 2019. So, with this new Android Go phone, Nokia appears to take on Xiaomi’s upcoming Android Go phone the Redmi Go.
As we mentioned, the Nokia 1 Plus leak include the specs of the device and a render showing the front of the phone. This Nokia 1 Plus leak comes courtesy of TigerMobiles.
According to the leak, the upcoming Nokia 1 Plus will be powered by MediaTek 6739WW chipset clocked at 1.5 GHz with a PowerVR GE8100 GPU, paired with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage. This isn’t a big upgrade from Nokia as the predecessor Nokia 1 also runs a MediaTek 6737 chip with same RAM and storage capacities.
The render hints that Nokia’s upcoming device will have a single front-facing camera and will sport thick bezels. On the software side, the Nokia 1 Plus will reportedly run Android Pie out-of-the-box, however, it is not known whether it will be the Go edition which is designed to run on entry-level smartphones.
Connectivity features of the Nokia 1 Plus will include dual SIM (Nano), GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, alongside a Micro-USB port. Coming to the sensors, it is likely to be same as the predecessor Nokia 1.
Besides this information, the pricing, availability details of the upcoming Nokia 1 Plus yet to be revealed by the company.
