New Poco phone with codename ‘Gram’ could be Poco M2 Pro

Xiaomi unveiled the Mi 10 smartphone in India on Friday alongside the Xiaomi Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 and Xiaomi Box 4K Android TV box. It seems the Chinese smartphone brand is in no mood to stop anytime soon. The company is said to be working on a new mid-range phone, dubbed as Poco M2 Pro under the sub-brand Poco. This may not be enough as a new leak suggests that there’s one more Poco phone in the works with the codename “gram”. The brand is also set to launch the Poco F2 Pro on May 12.

The “gram” codenamed model is expected to be the Poco M2 Pro– the new mid-range phone from Poco. The new XDA Developers report reveals that the Poco M2 Pro is under development. Besides revealing the existence of the Poco M2 Pro, one of the XDA forum members has also reportedly spotted firmware for a model that carries a cryptonym “gram_in_global”. This hints at the India variant of the unannounced Poco device.

According to the report, some references to the device codenamed gram have spotted in the kernel source code and firmware of the Redmi Note 9 Pro. This suggests that the similarities with the new Redmi phone. Further, if the report has to be believed the new Poco phone will have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC found on the Redmi Note 9 Pro.

Importantly, these details should be taken with a pinch of salt considering the brand is yet to officially confirm the leaked details.
