Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 8 for the starting price of Rs. 9999 in India last year. The smartphone came in two variants in India. Later, the company has launched the 3GB RAM + 64GB model for Rs. 9,799. The Chinese giant may soon launch a new storage variant of the Redmi Note 8 in China as the 8GB + 256GB variant has been spotted on TENAA.

Based on the TENAA listing, a new 8GB RAM option has appeared for the model number M1908C3JE. Other than additional RAM, the new variant has the same specifications as the other models.
The launch date of this new storage variant of Redmi Note 8 is currently unknown. In India, Redmi Note 8 comes in three variants – 4GB RAM with 64GB of storage priced at Rs 9,999, 3GB RAM + 64GB storage variant priced at Rs 9,799 and the 6GB of RAM with 128GB of native storage is priced at Rs 12,999. It is available in four color options: Neptune Blue, Moonlight White, Space Black and Cosmic Purple on Amazon India, Mi.com, and Mi Home Stores.

In terms of specifications, the Redmi Note 8 flaunts a 6.39-inch full HD+ display with a waterdrop notch, 2,340 × 1,080 pixels resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 layer protection, and 2.5D curved glass. The device gets juice from Snapdragon 665 SoC paired with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of onboard storage that is further expandable via microSD card. It ships with Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10.
In the camera department, the Redmi Note 8 features a quad rear camera with a 48-megapixel primary camera (f/1.79), an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor fo. There is a 13-megapixel sensor for selfies. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/ GLONASS/ Beidou, and USB Type-C. A 4,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging fuels the handset. There is a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric security.
