A new version of Motorola’s Edge smartphone has been launched in the US. Dubbed as the Edge (2021), the new Motorola phone succeeds the original Edge model from last year. It looks like a rebrand of the Motorola Edge 20 Lite/Fusion, though with slightly different specifications.

Motorola Edge 2021 will be available to buy in the US starting August 23 for $699 (roughly Rs 52,000) via Amazon, Motorola’s official website, and other partner retailers with a limited-time discount of $200 (approx. Rs. 14,900).

Motorola Edge 2021 Lite has a 6.7/8-inch FHD+ 8-bit LCD display with support for HDR10, up to 576Hz touch sampling rate, and 144Hz refresh rate. This phone features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC coupled with 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage.
The rear of the phone has a 108-megapixel f/1.9 primary sensor, an 8MP f/2.2 119° ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor. It has a 32MP selfie camera with an f/2.25 aperture on the front.
A 5000mAh battery powers the Edge 2021, which supports 30W fast charging. It runs Android 11 with My UX on top. It comes with ThinkShield for Mobile for protection against phishing attacks. With the ‘Ready For PC’ feature, you can connect your computer to the phone’s 5G network, share files, and use the selfie camera as a webcam.
The phone is also equipped with 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and GPS. Additionally, it has an IP52 rating. The phone is 169 x 75.6 x 8.99 mm and weighs 200 grams.
