Motorola officially unveiled the Motorola Defy smartphone. Moto Defy series makes its return after 11 years. Defy series handsets were launched by Moto in 2010. In this sense, it was the first device in the world that was both dustproof and waterproof. The latest Moto’s Defy rugged smartphone continues that tradition with a doubled sealed shell, IP68 rating, and MIL-SPEC 810H certification.
Motorola Defy Pricing, Availability
A sleek and textured grippy finish design of the phone is combined with the Forged Green and black colour options. Motorola Defy costs around 329 Euros (Rs 29,101). The handset will be available in select European and LATAM markets in the upcoming week. As of now, Motorola hasn’t provided any information on the global availability of Defy.
Motorola Defy Specifications, Features
Bullitt Group, which is mainly known for producing and selling the CAT line of rugged smartphones, manufactures the Motorola Defy rugged smartphone. Besides its double-sealed design and IP68 rating, the Motorola Defy has the standard MIL-SPEC 810H rating.
It comes with a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of HD+. The display panel is protected by 0.7mm Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and it is recessed 0.5mm for extra protection.
This smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 662 chipset. It has 64GB of internal storage and 4GB of RAM. MicroSD cards are also supported for additional storage. As far as the software is concerned, the device runs Android 10 out of the box. However, Motorola stated that the device will get an Android 11 update later on. It also has a side-mounted programmable key with Push to Talk mode.
A triple-camera setup is integrated into this rugged handset for imaging purposes. There is a 48MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, a 2MP depth-sensing camera, and a 2MP macro lens. An 8MP selfie camera can be found on the front of the device.
The handset has a physical fingerprint sensor under the rear camera module. The device features dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, a 5mm headset jack, and a USB Type-C port. It comes with a 5000mAh battery and 20W charging support.
