As per the latest report, a new generation Mi Notebook with 11th generation Intel processors is just around the corner. An official tweet from Raghu Reddy, Xiaomi‘s India chief business officer, revealed a few details about the upcoming Mi laptop and hinted at a new backlit keyboard that wasn’t included in the first Mi Notebook lineup launched in India.
According to Reddy’s tweet, the upcoming Mi laptop will have a backlit keyboard, a feature that has become increasingly common in today’s laptops. To recall, the first-generation Mi laptops offered a decent set of specifications with competitive price tags. There was no built-in webcam or backlit keyboard, however. It’s currently unclear whether Xiaomi will include webcams with all variants of the refreshed Mi Notebook, but it will come with the backlit keyboard.

The announcement from Xiaomi comes just a few days after its rival, Realme revealed that it is set to launch the Realme Book Slim on August 18. According to reports, the Realme laptop will launch with a 14-inch 2K display. The laptop is also expected to include an Intel Core i5 11th generation processor, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of SSD storage. Additionally, it is said to have a backlit keyboard, and its side profile is similar to Apple‘s MacBook — particularly since it has two USB-C ports on the left side of the laptop.
Mi Notebooks are set to become more than just educational and business laptops with the refresh. According to leaks, there could be a Mi Notebook 14 Pro with a 2K display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. It is likely to cost around Rs 60,000 in India. It is also possible that Xiaomi will release a Mi Notebook Ultra, offering a 15-inch 3.5K display, up to Intel Core i7 11th gen processor, 512GB SSD, and the Nvidia RTX 3050Ti GPU, which costs more. Since the first glimpse of the new Mi Notebooks has already been revealed, we can expect their official release date soon.
