Mi 9T will be a Rebranded Redmi K20, Geekbench Listing Reconfirms

There were speculations that the recently launched Redmi K20 could be rebranded as the Mi 9T in certain markets. Now, there has been a slight slip up by Geekbench, which has confirmed the rumors. The upcoming Mi 9T is nothing but a rebranded Redmi K20, the Geekbench listing has revealed.

The Redmi K20 and K20 Pro were launched last week in China and a new device named Mi 9T appeared in a leak last week. Xiaomi also confirmed that it will be launching the Xiaomi Mi 9T smartphone on June 12 for a global audience. Several earlier reports claimed that the upcoming Mi 9T will be a rebranded Redmi K20. And now, the handset has appeared on Geekbench confirming that its a rebranded Redmi K20.

As per the Geekbench listing of the Xiaomi Mi 9T, the device will run on Android 9 Pie operating system out-of-the-box and will come with 6 GB of RAM. Instead of the name of the processor, “davinci” can be seen mentioned in the motherboard field. The handset achieved 2,540 score in single-core test and 6,911 in multi-core tests of Geekbench.

Before the launch of Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro smartphones, few rumors had revealed that they are respectively codenamed as Da Vinci and Raphael. Now, the device once again spotted on Geekbench with codename “davinci” which reconfirms it is a re-badged edition of the Redmi K20. Thus, the upcoming Mi 9T will come with similar specs as the previously launched Redmi K20. The company has also confirmed that the K20 series phones will be released in India in mid-July.

Redmi K20 Specifications

To recall the Redmi K20 specs, it features a 6.39-inch AMOLED full-screen display. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 730 chipset, which is paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. It gets a triple-rear camera setup with a primary 48-megapixel sensor, a secondary 8-megapixel sensor, and a 13-megapixel third sensor.

For selfies, the phone is equipped pop-up selfie shooter with a 20-megapixel sensor. A 4000mAh battery keeps the lights on and supports fast charging via an 18W fast charging.
