Just as everything smartphone, camera trends too keep changing. This year, we’ve seen a lot of smartphones with a massive camera with zooming capabilities, triple to quad camera setups, pop-up selfie camera. There was Vivo who started the trend of pop-up selfie camera then there was Samsung who brought four cameras on the back. Now, according to the reports another Chinese smartphone maker Meizu is working on a smartphone with Pop-up selfie camera.
Recently, Meizu stunned the smartphone market by launching the world’s first smartphone without a charging port, buttons, and earpiece named ‘Meizu Zero’. Now rumors around Chinese tech circles is that Meizu might soon follow trending pop-up selfie camera in its upcoming smartphone.
A report from media site cnBeta appeared online suggesting that Meizu is already working on its own pop-up camera smartphone. Past rumors have revealed that Meizu is going to launch Meizu 16s on April 23rd in China. The upcoming Meizu 16s will be powered by the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC under the hood. For photography, the leaked TENAA listing revealed that the smartphone will feature a 48MP dual camera setup on the rear and a 20MP single selfie camera on the front. It will be running on the company’s own Flyme OS based on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box. The device will have a waterdrop notch display and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
However, Meizu hasn’t confirmed anything about the smartphone with pop-up selfie camera as of now. In the meantime, just take everything with a grain of salt. And wait for a few more leaks to confirm the specs of the device.
