LG officially announces LG Wing with a rotating display in India

LG has today officially taken the wraps off the LG Wing, a dual-screen flagship smartphone in India. The phone swivels into a T-shape and rotates clockwise in 90 degrees allowing users to interact with the Second Screen. It is offered in Aurora Gray, Illusion Sky colors. Priced at Rs 69,990, LG Wing will go on sale from November 9 in India.

LG Wing is a unique dual-screen smartphone by the South Korean giant. Users can interact with the secondary display when using the phone in Swivel Mode. LG claims that the hinge mechanism has been tested for as much as 200,000 swivels.

The company also partnered with YouTube and Tubi platforms to play videos on the main screen of the phone while the second screen shows the comments or the search bar. The second screen can also work as a media controller in compatible video platforms while playing videos on the main screen.

LG Wing Specifications

LG Wing includes a 6.8-inch P-OLED FullVision main screen and a 3.9-inch full HD+ hidden G-OLED second screen that allows you to use the phone in Swivel Mode. Users can interact with the Second Screen while content plays uninterrupted on the Main Screen. The main screen has a 20.5:9 aspect ratio and 395ppi of pixel density. The second screen comes with a 1.15:1 aspect ratio and a pixel density of 419ppi.

The device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset paired with 8GB of RAM. The phone comes with up to 256GB of internal storage. There is a MicroSD slot for expanding the storage up to 2TB.

As for the camera setup, the LG Wing features a triple camera setup made up of a 13MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture, OIS, as well as 13MP 117° ultra-wide lens with f/1.9 aperture, and a 12MP 120° ultra-wide Gimbal mode Camera with f/2.2 aperture. There is a 32MP front camera (f/1.9) for selfies onboard.

The LG Wing packs a 4000mAh battery and features support for Quick Charge 4.0+ 25W fast charging and 10w wireless charging. It runs on Q OS based on Android 10. The device is also IP54 certified for water and dust resistance and has MIL-STD 810G compliance.

The phone supports 5G SA/ NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, NFC, USB Type-C. The handset measures 169.5 x 74.5 x 10.9 mm and its weight is 260 grams.
