LG is cooking up for touchless phone with hover gestures on MWC Febraury 24

LG has sent out media invites for it big unveil event at Mobile World Congress set to February 24 to reveal its next big thing in a 10 seconds video clip with a tagline – ‘Goodbye Touch’.

This short video hints that the company is all set to unveil a new phone that doesn’t need any touch but works with new hover gestures and the video also hints at a new UI for the flagship phone, likely called the G8 ThinQ, which will allow users to control the smartphone via hand gestures.

Coming to the video details at the beginning,  we see a white piece of paper is laid on the screen. Shortly after, a hand appears and gestures rightward, followed by the words “Goodbye Touch”.

Then the same hand gestures leftward and the words “MWC 2019 LG Premiere” are shown on the paper. At the end of the clip, the hand pushes upward and the white paper slips upwards and is gone. On the screen, “Sunday, February 24, CCIB, Barcelona” appears. At last, the hand appears again and swipes rightward, with the words “Save the Date” appearing.

It is clear that LG Electronics will unveil its new flagship at Centro Convenciones Internacional Barcelona that is the day before the kickoff of Mobile World Congress which starts on February 25.

It seems like LG is also following the tradition used by Samsung to unveil its flagship, That opted to unveil the Galaxy S10 on February 20 at San Francisco instead.

Also, we heard a lot of rumours about LG may also be unveiling its own foldable phone at MWC. As of now, there is no word on the release of a foldable phone by the company seem unlikely.

To recall, South Korean giant also experienced a lot of slump in the last quarter of 2018 but still, the company withstand with multiple restructures.
