Vivo’s sub-brand iQOO has confirmed that it will soon be launching the successor of its iQoo Neo 3 5G smartphone that was announced in China in April last year. The new iQOO phone is being called as iQOO Neo 5 and the launch date is set for March 16. After many leaks and rumors, there’s an official confirmation on the launch date of the iQOO Neo 5.
The launch date was revealed by a teaser that was posted on Weibo, showing a glimpse of the phone’s design along with the launch date. According to the teaser image, the phone will have a hole-punch display design. There are no other details officially available.
iQOO also hasn’t said anything about the pricing and specifications of the iQoo Neo 5. But, there are a lot of leaks and reports coming related to the smartphone. It is tipped to launch with a starting price of CNY 2,998 (approx. Rs. 34,000) for the base model with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, CNY 3,298 (approx. Rs. 37,500) for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, CNY 3,398 (approx. Rs. 38,600) for the 12GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, and CNY 3,698 (approx. Rs. 46,000) for the top-end variant with 12GB RAM + 256GB storage.
According to leaks, iQOO Neo 5 might feature a 120Hz Super AMOLED display made by Samsung. The device could be running on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC along with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB storage. Additionally, iQOO Neo 5 can also include a 4,400mAh battery with 88W fast wired and 66W wireless charging support.
As for the cameras, the iQOO Neo 5 is rumored to feature a triple rear camera setup, including a 48-megapixel Sony IMX598 primary sensor, along with a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle shooter and a 2-megapixel macro shooter. Also, rumor is that the phone could have a 16-megapixel selfie camera. It is also said to come equipped with dual stereo speakers.
