iQOO 9, iQOO 9 Pro launched with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, 120W fast charging

A new series of iQOO flagship smartphones have been unveiled with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. Vivo’s sub-brand has launched iQOO 9 series with 120W fast charging, UFS 3.1 storage, and E5 OLED displays.

The iQOO 9 is equipped with a 6.78-inch full-HD+ Samsung E5 OLED display with a 1,080×2,400 pixels screen resolution, support for a refresh rate of 120Hz, a peak brightness of 1500 nits, and an in-display fingerprint sensor for security. It uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and comes with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

iQOO 9’s triple-rear camera setup consists of a 50-megapixel primary sensor with a Samsung GN5 1/1.57 lens which supports optical image stabilization (OIS), a 13-megapixel wide-angle camera with a 120-degree field-of-view and a 12-megapixel camera for portrait images. On the front is a 16-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calls.

The iQOO 9 comes with a 4700mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging. It ships with Android 12-based OriginOS Ocean skin. The device comes with 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS, and a USB-C port for charging.

The iQOO 9 Pro has the same 6.78-inch Samsung E5 OLED display which has a refresh rate of 120Hz, a peak brightness of 1500 nits, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. However, it is an LTPO 2.0 curved panel that has a higher QHD+ resolution. 

As for the hardware, it is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC coupled with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

On the optics side, the iQOO 9 Pro comes with a triple camera setup, consisting of a 50-megapixel primary sensor with a Samsung GN5 1/1.57 lens which supports optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50-megapixel ultrawide-angle camera with a 150-degree field-of-view and a 16-megapixel camera. The front of the phone has a 16-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calls.

There is a 4700mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging and 50W wireless charging. The phone runs OriginOS Ocean based on Android 12. Among the connectivity options are 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS, and a USB-C port.
