iPhone 13 series launched: Check price in India, availability & specs

Apple has announced the iPhone 13 series, which includes the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and the iPhone 13 Pro Max. These four iPhone devices use the company’s new A15 Bionic chip and run iOS 15.

iPhone 13 Series Price in India, Availability

Apple will offer three storage options for the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini. In India, the iPhone 13 mini 128GB variant costs Rs 69,900, the 256GB variant costs Rs 79,900, and the 512GB variant costs Rs 99,900. iPhone 13 is priced at Rs 79,900, Rs 89,900 and Rs 99,900 respectively for 128GB, 256GB and 512GB variants.

The iPhone 13 Pro, on the other hand, comes with a price tag of Rs 1,19,900 for 128GB variant whereas the 256GB, 512GB and 1TB variants cost Rs 1,29,900, Rs 1,49,900 and Rs 1,69,900 respectively. The most expensive model, iPhone 13 Pro Max is priced at Rs 1,29,900, Rs 1,39,900. Rs. 1,59,900 and Rs 1,79,900 for 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB variants, respectively.

Apple will offer iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini in five colors: pink, blue, midnight, starlight, and product red. iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max will come in four color options: graphite, gold, silver, and sierra blue. Pre-orders start Friday, September 17, and all four models will be available in India on September 24.

iPhone 13 Series Specifications

The iPhone 13 Pro comes with a 6.1-inch display while the Pro Max sports a 6.7-inch panel. A 6.1-inch screen is on the iPhone 13 and a 5.4-inch screen is on the 13 Mini. Pro models feature displays that can scale from 10Hz to 120Hz. Apple’s ProMotion displays are being used for the first time on iPhones.

For the iPhone 13 and 13 Pro, daytime brightness is 800nits and 1000nits, respectively. There is a peak HDR brightness of 1200nits on all four latest iPhones. The phones support Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG. 

Apple’s iPhone 13 series is powered by a six-core CPU that features two high-performance cores and four high-efficiency cores. Apple claims the new 4-core GPU is 30 percent faster than its competitors. Apple’s iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini use the A15 Bionic with a four-core GPU, the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are equipped with a five-core integrated GPU.

Up to 512GB of storage is available on the iPhone 13 models, and up to 1TB of storage is available on the Pro models. Currently, Apple hasn’t announced the exact RAM capacity and battery size. According to Apple, the iPhone 13 provides all-day battery life, lasting up to two and a half hours longer than the iPhone 12. Similarly, the iPhone 13 mini should provide up to one and a half hours more in a day than the iPhone 12 mini.

According to Apple, iPhone 13 Pro will last up to one and a half hours longer in a day than iPhone 12 Pro, and the iPhone 13 Pro Max lasting up to two hours and a half longer in a day than the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Both the iPhone 13 and 13 Mini have dual cameras. They offer Smart HDR 4 with improved colour, contrast, and lighting for each subject in a group photo, including in challenging conditions, making images more true to life, and improved Night mode. Furthermore, these models feature a new wide-angle lens, which manages to capture 47 percent more light for less noise and produces brighter images. The camera has 1.7um sensor pixels and an aperture of f/1.6.

There is a new 77mm telephoto lens with 3X optical zoom on the Pro models. Moreover, an ultrawide camera is capable of taking macro shots at up to 2cm from a subject and is equipped with an f/1.5 aperture and 1.9um sensor pixels primary wide camera.

This time around, Apple has focused a lot on videography. iPhone users can record videos of people, pets, and objects with a depth effect with automatic focus changes. iMovie for iOS and the Photos app allows users to adjust bokeh levels, giving them better creative control. The focus can be changed during and after captures. ProRes is also introduced in the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max to provide higher colour fidelity and less compression.
