As promised, Huawei launched the 2019 variant Y9 at an event in Delhi today. The smartphone available exclusively on Amazon India and the is live on January 15. The midrange series smartphone was launched in only in the single variant in India — a 4 GB RAM with 64 GB storage. This is the Y-series smartphone from the company launched in India which expands its market that includes the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, Huawei P20 Pro, Huawei P20 Lite, Huawei Nova 3 and Huawei Nova 3i.

For Pricing, The smartphone is starting at a price of Rs 15,990. Buyers can get boat Rockerz Sports Bluetooth headset worth Rs 2,990 for free. The smartphone is available in two colour options-black and sapphire blue.

Speaking about the specifications, The handset flaunts a 6.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display with 1080 x 2340 pixels. Under the hood, The device is powered by a Hisilicon Kirin 710 (12 nm) CPU processor and is available in a single storage variant in India — 4 GB RAM with 64 GB storage as of now.

On imaging duties, There is a dual rear camera setup in a combination of 13 MP primary sensor with an aperture of f/1.8 and a 2 MP secondary sensor with an aperture of f/2.4.For selfies, the device features a dual camera set up as well That includes 16 MP unit with f/2.0 aperture and a 2 MP depth sensor with an aperture of f/2.4. The camera is also optimized with a feature called instant snap, which is meant to capture an immediate moment. The videos can be shot on 1080p at 30 fps and 1080p at 30 fps. There is an LED flash and there is support for HDR, panorama, and HDR.

The smartphone is preloaded by anEMUI 8.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo, company says the phone could soon get an Android Pie update in the coming weeks. For biometrics, There is a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Making sure the device ticks it is powered by a 4,000 mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery.

For connectivity, the device includes options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and 4G LTE. Being the second largest smartphone maker in the world but in India still, it gets peanuts. The company market share in India is 1 percent less than its own e brand Honor. By unveiling Y9(2019) the company is likely giving a tough competition to the midrange smartphones Redmi Note 6 Pro or Realme 2 Pro.
