Huawei and Samsung were in a race to deliver first foldable smartphone to the market and Samsung already announced the Galaxy Fold foldable phone earlier this week. Now, Chinese smartphone maker Huawei’s foldable smartphone design has been leaked and the leak confirms that the phone will be called the Huawei Mate X. Moreover, the company claims that this will be the ‘world’s fastest foldable 5G phone’. Though the phone is still in works and may take some time before its launch. A report claims that the company is expected to launch its foldable phone launch event on Sunday, 2 PM CET (6:30 pm IST) in Barcelona.

An early banner of the Mate X foldable phone has been spotted by Twitter user @gimme2pm confirms the name and design of Huawei’s first foldable phone. If you look at the image, Mate X foldable phone considerably different than the Samsung Galaxy Fold. The Huawei Mate X is likely to implement a fold-out technique with two screens on the outer body of the folded phone. It opens up in an inverted fashion to activate the screen at the back, and transform into tablet mode.

However, the pricing details of the Huawei Mate X is still unknown as they are not mentioned on the banner. Moreover, there is no official word about the specifications. According to the leaked information, the Huawei Mate X will sport a 7.2-inch display and the company will reportedly manufacture between 24,000 and 30,000 units of the upcoming foldable phone in the initial phase.
